Lithic Archaeology Postdoc U. Calgary

Challenges:
Novel applications to residue analysis welcome. Screening for residue accumulations at low magnification, mapping, quantitative methods and applications in GIS.

Qualifications:

• have a PhD (degree obtained Sept 2017-Sept 2019) and expertise in two or more of these areas: 1) Residue analysis of stone tools, 2) Sequential residue analysis, 3) Microbotanical residue
• research proposed in the Postdoctoral Fellowship application must be distinct from, or add to the application’s doctoral thesis
• not hold a tenure or tenure-track faculty position
• not have already received a postdoctoral award from SSHRC, NSERC, or CIHR
• be motivated and organized self-starter, who can work with minimum supervision in a laboratory environment
• this project relies on team-work and close collaboration; candidates must be able to work effectively in a team
• be able to supervise and educate less-experienced co-workers
• have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• be supportive of the internationally diverse group of scholars that work in our lab
