Fyssen Foundation Postdocs

The aim of the FYSSEN FOUNDATION is to “encourage all forms of scientific inquiry into cognitive mechanisms, including thought and reasoning, which underlie animal and human behaviour; their biological and cultural bases, and phylogenetic and ontogenetic development”.

The FYSSEN FOUNDATION will award grants for the training and support of POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS working on topics in keeping with the Foundation’s goal.

The Foundation will support researchs in domains such as:

  • ETHOLOGY - PSYCHOLOGY
  • NEUROBIOLOGY
  • SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY
  • HUMAN PALEONTOLOGY - ARCHAEOLOGY

      The FYSSEN FOUNDATION awards grants of maximum 30 000 Euros per year for a first post-doc fellowship with a PhD less than two years on September 1st of the year of application.

      If the recipient has already reached its host lab, he should be settled for no more than 3 months maximum at the date of September 1st, 2020.

      Grants are addressed to young researchers 35-year-old maximum on the closing date. They are intended to assist, all nationalities research scientists, holder of a foreign PhD who wish to work in French laboratories or research scientists, holder of a french PhD who wish to work in laboratories abroad (except country of joint thesis supervision)

      Regarding the host laboratories located in France: the recipient hosted within a framework of a fixed-term contract will have to make sure that a convention of co-financing can be signed between the Foundation and the laboratory to cover, in equal shares, the cost of the gross salary loaded with.

      Grants are allocated from 12 months, not renewable, to 24 months.
