Oxford Associate Professorship of Palaeoanthropology

Applications are invited for an Associate Professorship of Palaeoanthropology. The post is full-time, and subject to completion of a successful review, permanent. The appointment will be made in association with a 3-hour Lecturership in Palaeoanthropology at St Hugh’s College.

The School offers an MSc in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology and BAs in Human Sciences and in Archaeology and Anthropology. The Associate Professor will make a key contribution to teaching, both at undergraduate and graduate level, and to DPhil supervision in the field of palaeoanthropology. She/he will also engage in research of international excellence.

Applicants should have a doctorate in anthropology with a specialization in palaeoanthropology and evolutionary anthropology; an outstanding research and publication record commensurate with stage of academic career; university teaching experience in areas related to palaeoanthropology at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including thesis supervision; and a record of securing competitive external funding for research and managing research projects and teams.
